Informational Meetings

New members and parents are welcome to come to the orientation meeting! Choose one of the following!

INSTRUMENTS OF PRAISE HOMESCHOOL BAND AND ORCHESTRA
ORIENTATION MEETINGS
August 8, 2011- Humble, TX 8:00 P.M. at the HEART Expo –Humble Civic Center -8233 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble, TX 77338
August 9, 2011 –Oak Ridge, TX 7:30 P.M. at Oak Ridge Reformed Baptist (Oak Ridge Christian Academy) 27420 Robinson Road, Oak Ridge, TX 77385
Mr. Paul Sommer, director of Instruments of Praise will be introducing various instruments at the orientation. There will instruments for your student to try so he or she can discover which instrument you will want to learn to play. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! The instruments that will be at the orientation will be a FLUTE, TRUMPET, ALTO SAX, TROMBONE, CLARINET, and BELL KIT (Percussion). All students must be 9 years old or older to be a part of the bands and orchestra. Recorder and piano/keyboard classes are for those who are 8 years old and up. Mr.Sommer will discuss the band and orchestra program and answer any questions that you may have. Let us know if you can come. Please call 281-259-3011 or email at info@instrumentsofpraise.org
FALL 2011 and Spring 2012 classes are online now! Plan to join this fall! Beginner Piano/Keyboard Class and Beginner Band (no experience necessary), Intermediate Bands and Orchestras, Advanced Bands and Orchestras, and Full Honor Orchestras are available. If you need private lessons, let us know!

TPSMEA Competition – Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Advanced String Orchestra who performed Symphony #29 (first movement) by W.A. Mozart Arranged by Thomas LaJoie which is a level 1 piece . They received a superior rating of 1 at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Competition Saturday, March 26, 2011.

Congratulations to the Honor Band who performed All Hail the Power by Stephen Bulla which is a level 1 piece. They also received a superior rating of 1 at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Competition Saturday, March 26, 2011.

Congratulations to the soloists and the small string ensemble who entered as well. Everyone did a great job!
