Northwest Houston Location Students and parents,

We have been notified that the Windwood Presbyterian Church is closed today. There will be no classes today Tuesday, September 22, 2020. See you all next week! Stay dry!

We are keeping an eye on the hurricane. We are still scheduled to have classes at 10:45-11:35 A.M. even though Cleveland ISD is closed Wednesday. Please check this NEWS tab for further notice.

A new location is coming to Cleveland, TX at Cornerstone Church 27453 Hwy 105W Cleveland, TX 77328.

Dates and times will be determined soon.

If your child is turning 9 this fall or is older, he or she is ready for band! You can sign up for a free appointment with Mr. Sommer at 3303 Sunlight Hill Lane, Spring TX, 77386 to try out the different band instruments your student can learn in class. The instruments are flute, alto sax, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, trumpet, and bell kit (percussion). We plan to start classes the week of August 24th!

Instruments of Praise Homeschool Bands and Orchestras will be having homeschool band and orchestra classes this school year!

If your child is turning 9 this fall he or she is ready for band!!

You can sign up for a free appointment with Mr. Sommer, the band director at 3303 Sunlight Hill Lane Spring, TX 77386 where your child can try the flute, sax, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, cornet and/or bell kit! If your child has played in school already, please contact us and we will let you know what level he or she will need to register for.

If you are a returning student or know what level you will join, please fill out the online registration form at https://www.instrumentsofpraise.org/class-registration/ so that we can plan on the location that he or she will be attending.

Since Governor Abbott has ordered that the schools remain closed for the rest of the semester, we will follow the same decision. The contest, classes and concerts are cancelled for the spring semester. We look forward to a great Fall 2020 semester!

According to Governor Abbott’s order, schools will remain closed through May 3, 2020. We plan to resume classes the week of May 4, 2020 if the school districts are also open in the area where your class is held. We may also extend classes another week (May 11-15). Beginner, intermediate, and advanced band students are welcome to attend all the classes at other locations to get in more class practice. Concert dates will probably be held a week later (May 18 & 19). Intermediate string, intermediate band and advanced band combined rehearsal are cancelled on April 20th and the Beginner band combined rehearsal on May 4th at 7 pm is cancelled.

According to our Guidelines on our website, we follow the public independent school districts’ school closings for the area where the band or orchestra classes are held. Due to precautionary measures for the Coronavirus, all band and orchestra classes will be cancelled from March 30-April 10, 2020. We will be following the school district’s dates if further dates are added . Hopefully we will get back to classes soon.
Keep practicing the assignments that were emailed to the beginner and intermediate bands and intermediate string classes. Advanced band, advanced strings and full honor orchestra will continue with the sheet music practice.
