WOULD YOUR STUDENT LIKE TO LEARN TO PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT?

THE 2010 “INTRODUCTION TO BAND” SUMMER CAMPS at

SUGARLAND: June 7th – 11th, 2010 at Cornerstone Christian Academy (First Colony Church of Christ) 2140 First Colony Blvd. Sugar Land, TX  77479 from 12:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M.  The camp will be held for 2 hours each day with a 15 minute break included in the 2 hours.

Or THE WOODLANDS/OAK RIDGE: June 14th – 18th, 2010 at Oak Ridge Christian Academy 27420 Robinson Road  Oak Ridge, TX  77385 from 12:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M.   The camp will be held for 2 hours each day with a 15 minute break included in the 2 hours.

Mr. Paul Sommer, director of Instruments of Praise will be introducing various instruments at the camp. There will instruments for you to try so you can discover which instrument you will want to learn to play. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  The instruments that will be at the camp will be a FLUTE, TRUMPET, ALTO SAX, TROMBONE, CLARINET and PIANO/KEYBOARD, and BELL KIT (Percussion). You will learn the history behind each instrument and will learn some basic music theory. Fun musical games will be played and interesting videos on various instruments will be shown! The cost of each camp is $100 per student. All students must be 9 years old or older. Your student does not need to bring an instrument unless he has one already!

2010 “INTERMEDIATE BAND” SUMMER CAMPS at

SUGARLAND: June 7th – 11th, 2010 at Cornerstone Christian Academy (First Colony Church of Christ) 2140 First Colony Blvd. Sugar Land, TX  77479 from 2:45 P.M.-4:45 P.M.  The camp will be held for 2 hours each day with a 15 minute break included in the 2 hours.

Or THE WOODLANDS/OAK RIDGE: June 14th – 18th, 2010 at Oak Ridge Christian Academy 27420 Robinson Road Oak Ridge, TX  77385.   The camp will be held for 2 hours each day with a 15 minute break included in the 2 hours.  Join other band students who have played their band instruments for one or two years.  Students will learn songs and music theory along with fun musical games. The cost of each camp is $100 per student. Students need to bring their instruments and a music stand.
